Build the Online Library yourself
All the above methods are also available for you to use. A typical way to build your online library is to import existing SDS files, and delegating tasks to your department managers to take inventory of chemicals and capture pictures of product labels for chemicals not already registered in the system.

Step 1: Add SDSs or chemicals to your locations by searching our database of 17 million+ Safety Data Sheets.

If you already have SDS files for your chemicals, you can import these in SDS Manager.

Step 2: Incorporate a direct link to SDS Manager on your intranet, such as "Access our Safety Data Sheet library here."

Adorn your workspace with QR-coded posters where chemicals are in use, providing essential information at a glance.

Step 3: Send an email to all your employees to let them know how they can access Safety Data Sheets by scanning QR codes on posters or secondary container labels. We have a ready-made templates you can use for this purpose.

Step 4: Our tools ensures compliancy with regulations by keeping your data sheets up to date at all times. Inform your employees about safe handling and what personal protection equipment to use when handling the chemicals.

If you have the SDS files stored in a folder hierarchy, you can zip the entire folder structure, and we will automatically recreate a location structure matching your folder structure, adding SDS to each location in the same way you have them on your file server.

When SDS Manager imports the SDS files, we analyze them and extract all the content found in the SDS files, making them available for you in your new SDS library.

Yes, SDS Manager includes features that make it easy to comply with all OSHA’s HazCom standards related to OSHA requirements for Safety Data Sheet management and hazardous chemical inventory, OSHA Secondary Container Labeling requirements, and OSHA mandates that Safety Data Sheets be readily accessible to all employees.

Yes. The SDS Manager app (iOS and Android) lets employees download your SDS library to their device for fast online and offline access, including barcode and QR scanning. We still recommend QR-code posters as the primary access method, it is unrealistic to expect every employee to keep an app installed, but for offline use or barcode scanning, the app is very efficient. To install, employees simply scan the QR-code poster.

SDS Manager is a powerful tool that assists in Evaluation of chemical exposures risks to your employees. With SDS Manager, you can easily create Chemical Risk Evaluations to assess potential exposures during the handling or use of hazardous substances. The platform enables you to define and mandate appropriate Personal protective equipment (PPE) to help mitigate these risks effectively.

All evaluations are conducted in accordance with Section 8 of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) – "Exposure Controls/Personal Protection" – and comply with OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200)

SDS Manager also includes built-in OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs) with the OSHA Z-tables and other Restricted chemical lists, allowing you to quickly identify which of your chemicals contain ingredients classified as toxic.
