Frequently asked questions

Everything about ExactSDS plans, credits and what counts toward your SDS total.

The cost of using ExactSDS depends on how you author your Safety Data Sheets and how many you need. Our plans fit various authoring needs, from creating one-time SDSs to producing them at scale, with both the Basic and Standard tiers scaling by SDS volume.

Every plan includes a 15-day free trial with no credit card required, so you can explore the platform first. A paid subscription only begins if you choose to place an order.

Pay As You Go — $ 199 per SDS. Ideal for creating new SDSs one time, with no annual commitment.

Basic — built for importing SDSs you already have and then updating, revising and translating them; not for authoring new SDSs from scratch. Priced by the number of SDSs you manage:

PlanAnnual price
Basic 1-4 SDS$ 199/year
Basic 5-19 SDS$ 399/year
Basic 20-99 SDS$ 699/year
Basic 100-499 SDS$ 1,990/year
Basic 500 + SDSContact sales

Standard — our most popular option, offering new SDS creation plus multi-language translation, scaled by the number of SDSs you manage:

PlanAnnual price
Standard 15 SDS$ 1,499/year
Standard 30 SDS$ 2,299/year
Standard 50 SDS$ 3,299/year
Standard 70 SDS$ 4,299/year
Standard 100 SDS$ 5,699/year
Standard 200 SDS$ 7,899/year
Standard 300 SDS$ 9,299/year

Enterprise — custom pricing. Designed for organizations authoring 300+ SDSs per year, adding bulk SDS generation, automated distribution, a dedicated account manager, custom compliance reporting, and training and implementation support.

Should your organization need a formal quote, contact us and we will send you a detailed quote by email.

The four plans differ mainly in how you pay, how many SDSs you produce, and how many features and how much support you need.

  • Pay As You Go — no annual commitment, best for one-time SDS needs. Includes SDS authoring from any chemical mixture, AI-generated hazard classifications, up-to-date GHS and regulatory checks, AI suggestions for each section, a centralized SDS library, and one round of edits per SDS.
  • Basic — the entry-level annual plan, built for importing and maintaining SDSs you already have. Includes importing, editing, updating and downloading your existing SDSs, up-to-date GHS and regulatory checks, one-click multi-language translation, company branding, and a centralized, folder-organized library.
  • Standard — best for regular SDS authoring, and the entry point for creating new SDSs from scratch on an annual plan. Adds editable SDSs you can revise anytime, multi-language translation with version control, and a substance and mixture library that speeds up authoring by letting you reuse approved data.
  • Enterprise — for 300+ SDSs. Everything in Standard, plus bulk SDS generation, automated SDS distribution, a dedicated account manager, custom compliance reporting, and training and implementation support.

"One-time SDS editing for revisions" means you can edit an SDS once after creating it. This applies to the Pay As You Go plan, which is a one-time purchase per SDS rather than an ongoing subscription, so you get a single round of edits instead of unlimited revisions.

If you need to revise an SDS repeatedly, the Standard and Enterprise plans are the right fit. Both include editable SDSs for future updates and let you customize and revise your SDS anytime, with no revision cap.

For billing purposes, "one SDS" means creating or importing one SDS. Each SDS you author from scratch or import into your library counts as one SDS toward your total and consumes one credit.

Language translations or versions of that same SDS do not count as additional SDSs and do not consume any additional credit.

A credit is what you use each time you add an SDS to your library. Importing or creating an SDS consumes one credit, so one credit equals one SDS.

Your plan's SDS count is effectively your number of credits. For example, a 100-SDS plan gives you 100 credits to import or create SDSs. Language translations or versions of an SDS don't use extra credits.

Yes, ExactSDS supports multi-language SDS creation, and which plans include it varies.

Pay As You Go does not include multi-language translation — it's intended for one-time, single-language SDS creation. Basic, Standard and Enterprise all include multi-language translation, so you can create your SDSs in multiple languages on any of these plans.

ExactSDS supports SDS creation and translation in 40+ languages, all from a single platform. This makes it well suited to global SDS authoring, letting you generate compliant Safety Data Sheets across major international regulations — including GHS, OSHA, EU CLP, WHMIS and REACH — in the language your market requires.

Yes. Rather than recreating documents from scratch, you can upload your existing SDS PDFs to import their content, edit the data, and quickly bring them up to the latest regulatory version.

The Basic plan is built around exactly this workflow, and the same import capability carries through the Standard and Enterprise plans. Keep in mind that each product you import counts as one SDS toward your plan total, in the same way that authoring a new product from scratch does.

Yes, on the Basic, Standard and Enterprise plans, letting you add your own logos, colors and headers so your Safety Data Sheets reflect your brand.

The Pay As You Go plan does not include company branding, since it's intended for one-time SDS creation rather than building a consistently branded library.

Yes, but only on the Standard and Enterprise plans. It lets you reuse approved substance and mixture data across your SDSs, apply presets, and significantly cut authoring time.

The Pay As You Go and Basic plans do not include this feature, so each SDS is authored without drawing on a saved substance or mixture library.

Yes — a 15-day free trial, with no credit card required. A paid subscription only begins if you choose to place an order, so there's no automatic charge when your trial ends.

You can start a trial on the Pay As You Go, Basic or Standard plans directly, while Enterprise is arranged by contacting the sales team. Any SDSs and setups you create during the trial are kept for the lifetime of your account, so nothing is lost if you decide to continue later.

Enterprise includes everything in Standard, plus five capabilities aimed at higher-volume authoring: bulk SDS generation, automated SDS distribution, a dedicated account manager, custom compliance reporting, and training and implementation support.

It's designed for organizations authoring 300+ SDSs per year and is arranged through our sales team rather than self-serve signup. Instead of a fixed per-SDS-count price, Enterprise uses custom pricing based on your volume and needs.

The Free plan
Our FREE version is intended to be an efficient tool to help you manage your Safety Data Sheets (limited to 200 SDSs) and generate a digital SDS Binder file. The SDS Binder file should be made available for employees to comply with EHS regulations that require employees handling chemicals to have access to SDS.

Certainly, you have the flexibility to adjust the number of SDS on our subscription page. Your invoice will reflect only the prorated price difference between your current plan and the cost of the new plan size for the remaining duration of the current subscription period.

SDS Manager operates with a straightforward subscription policy for your convenience. There are no hidden commitments; you only pay for what you've agreed upon. Should you decide to stop using SDS Manager, just notify us, or stop your payments—there's absolutely no obligation to continue.

Rest assured, we ensure there's no lock-in period with our service.

Certainly, any SDS files you include in the trial account will be retained if you choose to initiate the paid subscription after the 30-day free trial.

SDS Manager provides various services to facilitate the transition of your SDS library to a digital version.

Already Have SDS Files?
Share a zip folder containing your existing SDS files, and we will import them into your SDS Manager account at no extra cost.

Paper Copies / SDS binders?
If you possess a high-volume scanner, scan your printed Safety Data Sheets, and we will set up your Library based on the scanned files you send us.

Transitioning from a Different SDS Management System?
Our tools seamlessly extract and transfer your SDS files from major existing systems directly into SDS Manager, ensuring a smooth transition.

Starting from scratch?
Send us a list (e.g., XLS file) of chemicals with product names, supplier names, and product codes if available. We will find the Safety Data Sheets and add them to SDS Manager. Alternatively, use our tool to take photos of product labels for all your chemicals, and we'll build your SDS Library based on the pictures. Read more here.

Build the Online Library yourself
All the above methods are also available for you to use. A typical way to build your online library is to import existing SDS files, and delegating tasks to your department managers to take inventory of chemicals and capture pictures of product labels for chemicals not already registered in the system.

Step 1: Add SDSs or chemicals to your locations by searching our database of 17 million+ Safety Data Sheets.

If you already have SDS files for your chemicals, you can import these in SDS Manager.

Step 2: Incorporate a direct link to SDS Manager on your intranet, such as "Access our Safety Data Sheet library here."

Adorn your workspace with QR-coded posters where chemicals are in use, providing essential information at a glance.

Step 3: Send an email to all your employees to let them know how they can access Safety Data Sheets by scanning QR codes on posters or secondary container labels. We have a ready-made templates you can use for this purpose.

Step 4: Our tools ensures compliancy with regulations by keeping your data sheets up to date at all times. Inform your employees about safe handling and what personal protection equipment to use when handling the chemicals.

If your organization has multiple departments, you can establish a department structure. Delegate administrative roles to your department managers so that they can execute the above steps in their respective departments.

DirectSDS pricing

Frequently asked questions

How DirectSDS distribution plans are priced, and how to change them as you grow.

The cost of using DirectSDS depends on how many Safety Data Sheets you distribute. Plans start at 100 SDS and scale up to 4,000+, so you can pick the size that fits your needs. For example, if your organization distributes 300 SDSs, the 400-SDS package would be the appropriate choice.

If you'd rather not commit to a year up front, you can start on a monthly plan and upgrade to an annual plan once you're ready.

Basic — suited to B2C sales, with simple SDS database management, drag-and-drop import, automatic replacement of outdated SDS versions, and a website-embedded SDS search tool for customer access.

Premium — optimized for B2B sales workflows, automatically emailing SDSs triggered by your ERP system, mapping product SKUs to the correct SDS files, auto-subscribing customers to updates, and dynamically displaying SDS links, H and P statements and GHS pictograms on your product pages.

Pro — optimized for high-frequency B2B workflows, with a dedicated email address for supplier SDS submissions, automatic import of incoming SDS files, and employee access to your SDS library through QR code posters.

Should your organization need a formal quote, contact us and we will send you a detailed quote by email.

The difference comes down to how your SDSs are distributed, how automated that process is, and how much scale your organization needs.

  • Basic is built for B2C sales, with simple SDS database management and a website-embedded search tool that gives your customers direct access to Safety Data Sheets.
  • Premium adds automated B2B distribution. On top of everything in Basic, it maps product SKUs to the correct SDS files, sends ERP-triggered SDS emails, and automatically subscribes your customers to receive future updates.
  • Pro is designed for high-frequency SDS updates. In addition to everything in Premium, it provides a dedicated supplier inbox for automatic import of incoming SDSs and QR code access to your library for employees.
  • Enterprise carries all of Pro's capabilities but moves to custom pricing, making it the right fit for large-scale or multi-site deployments where a fixed per-SDS rate no longer fits.

No. Enterprise is based on your SDS volume and distribution complexity, not on how many sites you operate.

That said, managing a large number of sites is exactly the kind of scenario Enterprise is built to handle. So whether your organization runs from a single location or spans many sites, Enterprise can be customized to fit.

Yes, at any time. Whether you need to add more Safety Data Sheets to your library or move up to a plan with more features, you're free to adjust as your needs change.

When you make a change, your invoice reflects only the prorated difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remaining billing period, so you're never charged twice for time you've already paid for.

No. There's no lock-in with DirectSDS. If you decide to stop using the service, just notify us or stop your payments. There's no obligation to continue.

Yes. SDS Manager helps integrate a webhook into your ERP system, so SDS emails are automatically triggered whenever a customer purchases a product that requires a Safety Data Sheet. This includes helping map your existing SKUs to the correct SDS files during onboarding.

EHS pricing

Frequently asked questions

Per-employee pricing, trials, migration and what each EHS tier includes.

The cost is directly linked to the number of employees in your organization. Plans are billed per employee, per month, with no setup fees, so you always know exactly what you're paying for as your team grows.

PlanPrice
Standard — up to 200 employees$ 9.99/employee/month
Enterprise — 200+ employeesCustom pricing

For example, 40 employees on the Standard plan costs $ 399.60 per month.

The per-employee, per-month structure lets you scale up or down as your headcount changes, so you only ever pay for the team you have today. Should your organization exceed 200 employees, or need a formal quote, contact us for a detailed quote by email.

The difference comes down to how much support, integration depth and customization your organization needs as it grows.

  • Standard covers the essentials: all three EHS modules (incident, risk, and audit & inspection), mobile checklists with offline support, and dedicated onboarding with support — everything your team needs to stay compliant from day one.
  • Enterprise is designed for larger organizations and removes the employee cap entirely. On top of everything in Standard, it adds custom regulatory mapping by region, a dedicated customer success manager, custom SLAs, SOC2 audit packs, and the full chemical-safety suite bundled in — SDS Management, Inventory, Authoring and the BridgeSDS API.

You'll move to our Enterprise plan, which removes the employee cap entirely and is built to scale with organizations of any size.

Enterprise uses custom pricing designed around your specific needs, making it the right fit for global or multi-region deployments. To make the move, contact our sales team for a quote — we typically return a detailed quote within 48 hours.

No. The 30-day free trial requires no credit card, and there are no setup fees on any plan.

Yes. Since pricing is per employee, your monthly cost adjusts automatically as your headcount changes on Standard. Moving between tiers, or to Enterprise, can be arranged by contacting our team.

No. If you decide to stop using the platform, just notify us or stop your payments.

Most organizations are up and running within just a few days. EHS Solutions by SDS Manager is designed for a fast, low-friction rollout, so your team can start managing incidents, risk and inspections without a lengthy setup process.

Both the Standard and Enterprise plans include priority onboarding support to help you get configured quickly, and Enterprise adds a dedicated customer success manager to guide larger or multi-region rollouts every step of the way.

Migration to EHS Solutions by SDS Manager typically takes 14 to 21 days, depending on the size of your organization and the complexity of your existing setup. Our team works with you throughout to get everything configured and your team ready to go.

Yes. We provide a guided migration to bring your existing data across from other platforms, typically completed within 14 to 21 days. This is included as part of onboarding, with no separate implementation fee.

No. Your data is stored at no additional cost and kept for the lifetime of your account, so nothing you set up is lost, even if you pause or stop using the platform.

No. Onboarding and setup are included at no extra cost, with no upfront charges beyond your subscription.

No. Training is included at no additional cost to help your team get up and running.

The platform is built around the major EHS frameworks, with audit and inspection templates and compliance scoring for ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and OSHA. Beyond those core standards, it includes pre-built audit templates covering OSHA workplace safety, environmental compliance, fire safety and PPE inspections, and its audit and incident records are designed to satisfy ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, RIDDOR and EU regulatory inspectors, among others.

It adapts to your industry's regulatory landscape across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, chemicals and healthcare, and includes multi-language support for global operations. For chemical safety specifically, the connected SDS and authoring tools support GHS, EU CLP, WHMIS and REACH.

Yes. Reports are built automatically from incident data, so the numbers are always up to date without any manual work.

For regulatory reporting you get the OSHA 300 Log (updated in real time), OSHA 300A totals (ready for ITA electronic submission), and support for RIDDOR F2508 filings and SafeWork NSW notifiable incident records.

For safety performance, the platform automatically calculates and displays key metrics such as TRIR, DART, LTIR and Severity Rate on real-time dashboards, with compliance scoring for ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and OSHA, plus reporting across all your sites in one place.

Yes. EHS Solutions includes mobile apps for frontline safety work, letting employees report incidents from any device the moment they happen, even offline. The same mobile access covers inspection checklists and action tracking across desktop, tablet and smartphone, which helps increase reporting participation and keeps documentation audit-ready.
